Filipino race ace, Marlon Stockinger, takes 2nd in Monza

It is perhaps the most storied race track in motorsport, and it is here where Filipino driver, Marlon Stockinger gave us yet another reason to celebrate Pinoy pride today after finishing in a career high 2nd place in the Renault World Series.
After a disappointng start to the season with a 25-second penalty being added to his impressive climb through the field, rendering him P14 result in race 1, Marlon bounced back in Monza with a front row qualifying result and sealed it with his first podium in a Renault World Series car in race 2.

Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 knockouts) regained the WBO welterweight title with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Timothy Bradley (32-1-0, 12 KOs). After a close fight in the opening rounds, Pacquiao showed that he is the superior fighter as he outlanded Bradley starting in the middle rounds.

LTFRB grounds Corimba Express following Commonwealth collision

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a preventive suspension order against Corimba Express

This after one of buses figured in a collision with a passenger jeep along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City last week wherein at least six passengers were injured. 

The suspension order covers 16 units and will run for 30 days, during which the fleet of Corimba Express plying Baclaran to SM Fairview via EDSA Quezon Avenue route will be grounded. 

3 dead in bus, truck collision in Quezon

Three people were killed while at least 24 others were wounded when collided with a truck at the national highway in Tiaong, Quezon on Wednesday night. Two female bus passengers, identified as Alyssa Sangayan, 10; and Remedios Tandrones, 65; died on the spot while another passenger, Eden Tandrones, died at the hospital. Among the wounded was Jam Liner bus driver Juvany Impestan and the bus conductor. The investigation is still ongoing but initial reports said the bus was on its way to Lucena when it hit a truck bound for Manila. The impact of the accident caused the bus to overturn. The driver of the dump truck is now in the custody of Quezon police.

Philippine top court approves controversial birth control law

The Philippines' highest court approved Tuesday a controversial birth control law that supporters said would transform the lives of millions of poor Filipinos, in a stunning defeat for the powerful Catholic Church.


"The RH law is not unconstitutional," Supreme Court spokesman Theodore Te told reporters, announcing a ruling that struck down more than a dozen petitions against the reproductive health law by church groups.
